Ariana is immortal. She is going to live forever and she knows it. She has seen almost every situation happen at least twice and as a result she is a little bit jaded. She is going to outlive everyone she meets so she doesn't see the point in being their friend. Or for that matter their enemy.
Although, to be quite honest she doesn't mind being their enemy because an occasional person attempting to stab her in the back at least livens things up a little.
